Drop Bar Gauge

The drop bar assembly has a series of shock absorbers – one hydraulic and three springs. At impact the hydraulic shock absorber takes the initial compression, similar to a car shock absorber. After the hydraulic shock absorber has compressed approximately 30%, the first spring shock absorber starts to compress. Once the hydraulic and spring shock absorbers are fully compressed a second and third spring absorbs any remaining shock.

In addition to the hydraulic and spring shock absorbers we have also installed nine Rubber Finger Centralizers that keep the Drop Bar Assembly centered in the tubing. These Rubber Finger Centralizers also reduce the velocity of the Bar Assembly by rubbing against the tubing, causing enough friction to reduce the speed at which the bar drops. This in turn reduces the severity of the impact on the firing head.

The combination of hydraulic and spring shock absorbers reduces or eliminates any severe vibration or shock on the Gauge electronics. This ensures that good quality pressure and temperature data is collected while the Drop Bar Assembly is traveling inside the tubing – just prior to, immediately upon and after impact.

Gauge Features

The 3⁄4” gauges have been designed and manufactured by AKSBraemar Reservoir Technologies to exacting specifications. One of the main benefits of the AKSBraemar gauge is reduced power consumption that extends the life of the battery significantly from that of our competitors. These gauges also offer increased resolution and a repeatability that is second to none.

Quality Product. Quality Service.

In conjunction with highly accurate calibration equipment, our staff have been trained in the proper use of these instruments and the importance of accuracy during the calibration process. Even after calibration is complete, our Quality Control procedures dictate that the gauge must meet our minimum requirements during the curve fit or it will be rejected, re-inspected, repaired and recalibrated.

AKSBraemar equipment is of the highest quality, but we do not stop there. We also supply training and follow-up service that cannot be topped by any of our competitors.
