Plunger Lift Gauge Assembly

The AKSBraemar Plunger Lift Gauge Assembly was designed for 2 3/8” or 2 7/8” completion that uses Plunger Lift as a means of enhancing production. The AKSBraemar Plunger’s external dimensions are identical to any normal plunger, but internally the plunger is fitted with electronics that monitor pressures and temperatures during production cycles, shut-in cycles and extended shut-in periods. (The Plunger Gauge will measure bottom-hole pressures and temperatures during shut-in periods.) The information collected during a flowing cycle and shut-in period can be used to minimize the shut-in time between cycles and maximize the well’s overall productivity.

The electronics have been designed, tested and calibrated to offer the highest degree of accuracy, while offering the end user the lowest power consumption of any gauge in the market today. We also know that the accuracy of any electronic instrument is 100% dependent on the care taken during calibration. This is why AKSBraemar utilizes one of the most advanced calibration chambers and dead-weight testers available in today’s market.

In conjunction with highly accurate calibration equipment our staff have been trained in the proper use of these instruments and the importance of accuracy during the calibration process.

Software Application

All AKSBraemar instruments are programmed and downloaded using software written by AKSBraemar software engineers. The software was designed with the end user in mind, offering Windows “point and click” for ease of operation.

Even after calibration is complete, our Quality Control procedures dictate that the gauge must meet our minimum requirements during the curve fit or it will be rejected, re-inspected, repaired and recalibrated. The AKSBraemar hardware is also subjected to our high standards in Quality Inspection and must meet our minimum tolerance specifications. In addition to a high quality material that comes with full material data sheets and traceability, we also subject the main body of our gauge to a Nitrate coating procedure that eliminates any chance of thread galling.
